JULIO OYHANARTE
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Before partnering with Gianfranco in DGO Legal, I worked for 13 years in my own law firm in Argentina, specializing in Constitutional, Civil, and Business law. In 2010 and for four years, I was appointed Legal Secretary in the Argentine Federal Judicial Council where I resolved complaints against federal judges and issued evaluations on proposed candidates for the post of federal judge. I also had regulation and budget execution duties. In 2017, I worked in the Argentine National Congress as a legal adviser in the Constitutional Affairs Commission. I drafted legislation and offered legal and political advice.
I hold a Degree in Law from Austral University (Buenos Aires, Argentina), a Master of Laws (LLM) from UCLA (Valedictorian & UCLA Dean’s Tuition Fellowship award), and a Master of Public Policy from King’s College London (UK). I am also a Chevening Alumnus, United Kingdom’s government international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders.
I am admitted to the State Bar of California and the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association. I am also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Before founding DGO Legal, I worked for the United States Department of Justice, as an Honors Program attorney advisor at the Los Angeles immigration court, conducting research, drafting opinions, and advising immigration judges. I previously worked for a boutique immigration firm in the greater Los Angeles area for three years where I assisted clients in a variety of immigration matters.
I was born and raised in a small medieval village in Southern Italy. Before settling in Los Angeles, I lived in Mexico, China, and England. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Università Orientale Napoli and a Master’s of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I obtained my law degree from UCLA School of Law and I was subsequently admitted to the State Bar of California.
When I’m not representing clients, I enjoy traveling, trying new cuisines, learning new languages, watching soccer, drinking espresso, and spending time with friends and family.

I joined DGO Legal to put the immigrant’s experience first. In my previous roles, I saw firsthand how the immigrant (or nonimmigrant) experience was often an afterthought. I wanted to use modern, technology-driven tools to make the client experience as smooth and pleasant as possible, while at the same time providing more personalization than clients typically receive with larger immigration firms. I knew DGO Legal was the right place to do this.
I am passionate about working with innovators from around the world and businesses that see foreign-national employees as essential to their business. This passion stems from my own family history. My great-grandmother was in Mexico when it became Arizona; my great-grandfather immigrated to the United States and invented an efficient printing press; my adoptive grandmother came to America after surviving Auschwitz; and my father invented a novel denture material. As a result, I am personally invested in helping foreign nationals and their employers navigate the complex U.S. immigration system.

I was born into a family with a long tradition of lawyers. I am admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and to the Bar of the City of Buenos Aires.
I graduated in 2000 with honors from the Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires. Shortly thereafter, I was admitted to Harvard Law School to pursue a Master’s degree. There, I focused on subjects such as International Business Transactions, International Commercial Arbitration and Corporate Law.
Upon returning to my country, I became a partner in the family firm, advising and litigating in civil, commercial and public law matters. In that role I was able to assist clients in a wide variety of contexts, from pro bono work on behalf of people with difficulties in accessing the courts, to foreign companies, and even the Argentine Congress and the Judiciary Council.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to dedicate part of my time to develop my academic interests, being appointed professor of Constitutional Law and Human Rights at Universidad Austral and Universidad del Salvador. In that capacity, I have been able to publish books, research papers and editorial columns in the press.

Helping people understand the United States immigration system has been a passion of mine since 2015, when I first entered the field of immigration law. My enthusiasm for this important aspect of my job has only grown as I married into a family from Central America, joining the immigrant community in a new way. I am excited to help DGO Legal in its mission of providing immigration information and strategies to people from all over the world.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law. Throughout my legal career I have enjoyed working with clients on family-based and asylum cases, but I have a particular fondness for employment-based immigration. I have focused my work for the last few years on merit-based processes like EB-1, EB-2 NIW, and the O-1 visa.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my family. My own heritage is Greek, and I am a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, but I now live in a Spanish-speaking household. I like to think that my Latin cooking skills have come a long way!
